Ted Ritter is CEO and Founder of Cyber Velocity. He offers a unique combination of sales, sales engineering, industry analyst and marketing expertise: across commercial, federal, international, OEM and channel markets. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Miller Heiman trained sales executive, Ted’s focus is exclusively on cybersecurity products and services.
Before forming Cyber Velocity, Ted was at Nemertes Research where he was a highly regarded principal analyst covering information security, cloud and data center and a successful sales executive selling to Fortune 500 commercial organizations.
Ted has been a frequent speaker at major technology events in the U.S. and abroad. Appearances include speaking at the Nemertes Navigatore360 conference and delivering keynotes at the Executive Alliance data center and security conferences as well as running the data center track for IDG’s IT Roadmap conferences. He also served as conference chairman of the Green IT Expo at Eco-Build and has published articles in numerous technology publications.
Ted draws upon 25 years of experience in information security and telecom technology sales and sales engineering. He has designed, sold, implemented, and supported telecom and information-security solutions for commercial, federal, and international clients. At Intelligent Decisions Ted built a cyber-security practice, growing from $80K to $8M in three years. Before Intelligent Decisions, Ted led sales and marketing for Tovaris, an email security startup; and before that he built out SafeNet’s global reseller network. Finally, as a senior network engineer at NET, he was a key technical contributor to winning AFNET, NET’s largest contract, ever.
Ted certifications include the NIST Cybersecurity Framework Controls Factory Model (NCSF-CFM) course developed by itSM and the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and the OpenGroup OpenFAIR (Factor Analysis for Information Risk). Ted has a Master of Science degree in telecommunications management from The George Washington University and Bachelor of Arts degree in neuroscience from Oberlin College. He splits his time between Fairfax, Virginia, and Sarasota, Florida and he’s passionate about African drumming, brewing beer, Buddhism, and stand-up comedy. Yes, really!
